So, I survived East Coast Primary School's Primary 4 camp.

It sure is horrendous.

Compared to SCGS, they were pretty scary. There's kids who sabo-ed their friends, there's kids with strong attitude problems. But all these, I treat it as part of my learning journey of my internship.

Yes, the five of us did made mistakes during the first day, but the trainers' night debrief was a wake-up call for us. Second day, we did much better in Ismail's and Azlan's point of view. But for myself, I felt that I didn't really take good care of my kids on the other hand, I was quite annoyed with their attitude and their comments.

You think that primary four students are as innocent as you think?

Like what I'd always say, never judge a book by it's cover.

Why?

The primary fours are more matured than I thought of them.

They were like doing explicit actions/saying things they are not supposed to say when I'd squat down to tie my shoe laces and seventy percent of them are in a relationship.

Yes, they are primary four students, ten year olds.

I thought my kids were alright but after what Naz told me what his kids said, I began to have a different mindset.

But all in all, the experience was good.

First time being emcee was alright. I was surprisingly calm when it came to breakfast despatch and campfire.

I didn't know that the emcee for campfire needs to do so much things not only to plan but to also put your plan to work.

I stayed up until 3+am to do homework for breakfast despatch and do some planning for campfire in case Naz and I didn't have time for planning. In the end, I felt as if I was the emcee i/c.

After breaking camp, went to Vivo city with Dragonfly and her friend, Kenneth. Jalan jalan around then we headed home.

Metta School Camp
I just ended camp today.

Learnt how to empathize those kids who are mentally challenged.

Really, I don't know why I've treated my kids from Metta much kinder than usual. Maybe it's my empathy machine working or something.

Yes they are slow, but then they completed Challenge Valley, Challenge Rope Course and Flying Fox.

I was proud that during final debrief, they mentioned the debrief topics that I have set for them.

HAHA!

Anyway, I'm wondering why my stay in Sarimbun always so short. LOL!

Oh well, at least we're with great company, there's Azlan, Saliha (Wayne was supposed to be the Camp Chief but cannot make it for camp due to some things) , Khai Veg, Khai Wet, Jeffrey, Jason, Nisa and Dragonfly.

These six people can make me laugh till my stomach muscles ache. XD

Kay lar, gotta go hit the sacks already.

Did up some water activity setup before heading to Labrador Adventure Centre for camp recce.

Basket.

Didn't know that we have to hike up the 'hill'. But At least I survived.

OHOH! We gotten loads of goreng pisang before heading up to the hill.

Sigh, I'm having friends who are getting attached, friends being in relationship and friends breaking up in a relationship. I feel like getting attached yet I wanna enjoy the free life of being single.

Fickleminded much?

Bahh.

I only have eyes on certain guys. I still have past feelings popping up to me and there's some popping out in front of me. I don't know.

I need help to fix my feelings right, pronto.

So rc was alright today.

Didn't feel like climbing though.

But then, after climbing, me, Fir and Sai went to run 2.4km in the rain. Sai dropped out halfway due to his chronic knee injury.

After that, we headed back to the bouldering area got our stuff and showered.

We headed to Queensway shopping centre to jalan jalan since we have a straight bus there and needed lunch.

Guess what?

I SAW A DEUTER CHALK BAG IN ORANGE!

Okay, I'm not wanting a chalk bag for rock climbing but for general use.

To put my valuables in during camps so that I don't really need to bring my dry tube around in camps.

Told mom about it and she said she'll lend me money to get it first.

HOHOHO!

I'm so languid right now lahh.

Basket..

I have to report to work tomorrow.

NOTE: I might hurt everyone's feeling after you have read this post. But, this is what I truly feel about it.

It's back to training for me on a saturday morning.

Ever since I've stepped into Innotrek, I've started to see the team in another angle.

It's like I'm looking at CWDB's problem from outside of the team. I wanna solve it, but, like what I've observed, I can't possibly jump in and solve it just like that. Imma no one in the team except a rower and everything I've said is no use. Even if I really care about the team, no one cares.

Why?

Egoistic people.

Because, I've learnt to receive feedbacks/comments -no matter good or bad- from anyone with an open mind, and also help your friends to cover their asses when anything cocks up.

Really, ever since Mac told me to take the seasoned trainers' comments/feedbacks of things that I done, I have learnt alot.

Le sigh.

Things have changed ever since I went into attachment. The management is totally different, peoples' attitude changed, coach's coaching technique is different, two new coaches cum manager for the girls' team, warm-ups for sea training gone, land training location changed, everyone don't go out for dinner after training anymore etcetc.

It seems like I'm being left behind due to attachment. I really hope that I could catch up with CWDB. It's like, I could literally feel the irritation from the girls after I ask Farh on how to do the recovery and to run through the strokes with me since it's a long time since I last hit the waters.

I've already put in my best. Whatever you want to say, it's up to you to say it in my face, in front of me or behind my back. I don't care. I've already did my best.

I heard some things that I can't really stand. It's like you don't need to bitch about people to get things your way. Because, at the end of the day, the problem is still on you.

Sigh...

Okay, so I decided to head to town even it's like 12pm. I simply refuse to go home.

HAHA!

So, I walked around orchard for awhile, and went to Takashimaya to get breakfast. Then headed to wheelock place jalan jalan abit then to liat towers to wait for Saliha and the rest for briefing.

SCGS Camp
The girls were really really great. So far, this is my best camp ever.

They were really united, made me learn alot of things from them and them learning things from me. I was initially surprised that they were very enthusiastic when they reach the campsite because Saliha said that the girls are very quiet and all before we met them. They also gave wonderful remarks for the evaluation forms.

And yeah, I love them. They're so sweet but can be really irritating at times when they plaster me with their endless questions when I'm giving out instructions. Other than that, I could say nothing but wonderful.

Two girls, Cinderina and Jamie even lepaked with me for awhile before they head to bed. And while their lights off time is at 12.15am, Astylos was already asleep by 11.55pm. I was amazed.

Okay, enough about the girls, back to my main topic.

SCGS was really great not only the girls, I also learnt how to be an emcee for abit and also learnt how to do despatch. Seriously, I thought I did screw up but I was suprised that Mac and the other seasoned trainers didn't really shoot me (except when it came to outdoor cooking.).

Hmm.

Overall, everything went well.

But I hate the fact that we interns need to scrub all the mass tins we have that have rust stains inside it (with those green scours at the back of the sponges, mind you.) after we break camp because the next school using for outdoor cooking will be ACS(primary) (the things we do for our clients. Basket.).

Sigh.

Reached home at 5plus.

Basket, everyone please don't EVER fall into deep sleep in any TIBs buses.

WHY?!

Because, I fell asleep on bus service no. 180 from Bukit Panjang to Boon Lay interchange and when I woke up, the freaking bus is making it's way out of the bus interchange and past the first bus stop opposite Jurong Point.

I was pissed lahh.

This shows that the stupid bus uncle didn't check for sleeping passengers before they'd leave their parked buses.

Lesson learnt, no sleeping on TIBs buses.

Okay, so geeky green was kinda a success with us nine interns (adhy mia-ed again) and all of the full timers running around making things look perfect and in their correct locations.

And yeah, I look alot much geekier than I thought I would be.

Everyone was asking who I was on the first look. HAHA!

Okay, so I don't really have much photos with me. It's all in Saliha and another person's (I don't know her name. LOL!) camera. I'll grab it as soon as I can ya?

All nine interns stayed over at the chalet and helped cleaned up the place shifted the furniture and all then after we'd settled down, some of us watched the Olympics, some of us just lepaked, and the eight interns went downtown east to jalan jalan.

Then after awhile, we started to play daidi. Jones taught me!

There's Jones, me, Saiful, Shima, Halim, Mac, Nazmi, Mimi's gf, Mimi and Shufang (she just watch the Olympics).

And after two games of Daidi, we played drinking games.

Okay, for the first few rounds lady luck was on my side then I think on the fourth or fifth round, I finally drank my first concoction Heniken, Aboslut Mango and Orange punch with the ratio of 4:4:2.

I was still sober after I downed my first cup (we used disposable cups) and then subsequently, I had my second my third my fourth and my fifth.

I KO-ED!

FISH NUGGET!

Saiful said I shouted 'do I look okay?!' at him as if he's deaf and sait that I'm the noiziest one around.

After I sort of ko-ed in the living room, Jones have me a cushion/pillow to sleep on. At around 2am they finally switched off the lights and I just sleep on.

Mac suddenly woke me up and dragged me into the room so sleep.

Seriously, I'd rather sleep in the living room than in the room.

It was freezing cold in there. Armed only with a pillow, lying still on the floor was a big problem.

I nearly rolled myself under the bed to shield me from the cold. Then I had a very good idea, I switched off the fan (no wonder it felt as if I'm wearing only a tee-shirt in north pole.). Basket.
Eventually, all the movement I'd made make Mac wanting to sleep on the bed.

HAHA!

Okay, Enough of Geeky Green.

Let's move on to today.

Was woken up by Jones at approximately 845am. Everyone could only managed a groan to her. Cleaned up and pack all our stuff.

I didn't go home like the rest did. All because I simply refuse to ride the mrt from one to the other end and back to town.

I have to meet Saliha 2pm at Wheelock's Burger King for camp briefing.

Okay, I shall continue tomorrow.

I feel woozy.

Okay, this post will kinda be the part for the trainer's level 2 course.

So it was wonderful la.

Having Mac, Saliha and Saiful around was really great.

Learnt alot from my mistakes and everyone's mistakes. Anyway, now most of us have something to tease each other. HAHA!

OHOH!

I love playing in the 'milo' pond.

We did rafting and river crossing in it and it was so much fun. The middle of the pond was deeper than I thought it was supposed to be and I have no choice but to swim in it since I was made the SIC for river crossing and have to guide everyone across the pond.

But it was funfunfun!

ANDAND, our accommodation was air conditioned and we have warm water to bathe in!

HAHA!

So by the end of the camp/course, we did area cleaning and everyone said their byebyes and I headed home.

Surprisingly I didn't go jalan jalan alone.

Maybe because I was carrying my 60 litres haversack around and was too tired to walk.

Okay, yesterday was a very fruitful day for me!

My team, team 1, wasn't instructed to do any outdoor stuff (like belaying and stuff like that.). We were instructed to do preparations for Geeky Green happening tomorrow.

So after work, Dragonfly and I went to Lot 1 shopping mall and I got myself my pair of COLUMBIA OUTDOOR BOOTS/SHOES! It was a catch man, I got it for only 83 bucks with storewide discount of 17% and membership discount for 10%. Dragonfly got it herself a pair red Birkenstocks. They also gave me a Columbia waterbottle, a Mizuno (however you spell it.) duffel bag and two pairs of socks.

The greatest catch of the day mann!

HAHA!

Kay lar, I'll post up photos of Geeky Green and my shoes asap kay?

Trainers' level2 course was fantastic!

Learnt stuff like how to do briefing and debriefing effectively, take comments (good or bad) with an open mind, RAMS assessment model and many more.

Okay, I got a feeling to apply what I've learnt into my db team.

It really hurts to hear and read from people that our team isn't doing good. I've been away for so long and this happens.

I'm not trying to say that it's because of me that the team is bonded together. It's just that I have that burden for cwdb and yes, I know everyone have it too. But, have it and overly stressing your team out isn't the right thing. It'll be like squeezing juice out of an already squeezed orange. There is no point of squeezing anymore.

Everyone's trying their best and train up for the upcoming race.

CWDB GIRLS!

I know you can do it, train and receive comments with an open mind. Believe in yourselves.

Joy:

Girl, you can do it. The girls are backing you up. Don't worry okay? You're the best captain ever!

Okay, I've gotta go sleep alr.

I'll blog more tomorrow.

Okay, today's an official slack day for work.

Was supposed to finish our project but, there's only one computer.

So we took turns to do, and everyone ended up sleeping/lepaking/slacking in training room 2 while one or two work on the presentation. It happened from 9am in the morning till 4pm in the afternoon. Not long after Azlan reached STI, he had a look at our presentation, he said it was well done, but he needs to see the layout measurement. So, JinTing and I drew out a layout while the guys did the measuring of the area.

At 5pm sharp, everyone in SSC headed down to DFAC. Us interns headed towards the office, while the full-timers headed to the training room. There, we interns finished up our final layout, and lepaked somemore till 6pm.

The rest headed home while Nazmi and I headed down to Army Market (aka, Beach Road) to get his pants. After that, we headed to the hawker centre downstairs for dinner.

Then we headed home. But before I head home, I have to get Halim's birthday cake.

Basket.

Now I have to go SSC earlier so that I could sneak the cake into the pantry's refrigerator. But at least I'm meeting Saliha and head down to SSC together. HAHA!

Okay lar, I've gotta go before Saliha kills me when she hears what time I'd go to bed tomorrow.

Didn't get my hiking boots because the price was like waayy out of my budget and ChiYee said that there'll be a Timberland warehouse sale at Expo by the end of the month.

Now I'll have to ask my mum to safe keep the moolah for in case I'd spent it all.

Okay, National day felt as if it's a normal day.

Still have to work somemore.

But I was surprised that I was the only female trainer/belayer around. Adhy didn't come for work. The company we did belaying for was this all malays, all male welfare home. I felt so awkward lahh. Being able to only understand 10% of malay. )): (Now I know how XL feels. (X)

I was kinda intimidated at first. But as time goes by, I found out that they didn't really create much of a trouble and was really friendly.

As for safety wise, Mac didn't allow me to do zip line and came to look for me quite frequently while I was doing CRC and rock wall even though there's EFIs around. So I was kinda stuck at the abseil tower the whole day. Not surprisingly, I did abesiling three times today. Basket.

Okay, enough of working during national day.

Tomorrow's RC and Shopping day!

Yes! I finally did get my pay on wednesday!

Since Saliha and Fir have already given me a haversack, I shall now hunt for a pair of hiking shoes and get another two pairs of pants for work. Those that you can unzip and it'll become a pair of berms kind.

Gonna go Beach road with the rock climbers tomorrow. X)

Anyway, here's the photos I've promised. Now, the oldest will be at the bottom.

Enjoy!

HOHO! Mac was seen playing stones with Ameen.....NOT! HAHA!

So, first day of being twenty isn't that bad.

It feel as per normal lor.

HAHA!

So, I went for training smack on my birthday. It was fun. Miss going for training so much.

But to see the team's reaction that I'm back really was a turn off though. None of the guys even remembered my birthday. Okay, take that back. It's alright for them to forget, but for them to come up to me asking whether it's my birthday or not, was really a turn off. At least the girls did up a card for me! Thanks girls!

Then after showering, I went to meet Firdaus and Saliha for dinner. They suprised me with a red 60litres haversack ( big or what sia! HAHA!). Then, they treated me to dinner at Swensens@Marina Square.

Thanks you both! Really apreciate it that you both remembered my birthday dispite me being in Inno for only one month (exactly one month lehhs!). Love you guys loads!

And to those who sent me well wishes via sms, friendster, msn, tagboard or saying it to me directly, thanks alot! Really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

Thanks to daddy who gave me shades, the same Nike watch I'd lost the year before last year and sending me an sms.

Thanks to both my sisters and mom who bought the birthday cake last week.

Really really happy now!

Okay! I think I should head to bed now.

I have to work tomorrow.

Yes on National day aka, a public holiday.

Basket.

P/S: I'll post up the photos soon!

Okay so, camp with YuNeng Primary School was alright I guess. My group was much better than the Queenstown Primary School's one although yes they got onto my nerves on the second day, on the first day, they've taken the initiative to do things.

As time goes by, I'm getting the hang of things around. Within this camp itself, I've learnt how to be a nature guided walk ic and how to be the wave ic. Though it's tough when you're giving nature guided walk briefing with the camp chief, 2nd ic of the camp and teachers standing around, to hear the briefing.

Thankfully Mac or Ismail didn't cut in to say something, if that really happens, you need to get ready to get screwed by the camp chief.

But suprisingly, neither Mac nor Ismail gave the least bit of disappointment or gave any of the interns the feeling that we'd cock up the camp. Seriously, I thought Mac would screw me when I'd dispatch the first group for nature guided walk for my wave at 2.30pm when the first group was supposed to be off by 2.15pm.

070808
Okay, so the last day of being nineteen wasn't that special. I had to work lah.

But it was funfunfun!

First was RAMS lecture then Azlan and Umar gave us teneight interns (Adhy and Fathul wasn't there) a project to do. What kind of project?

They gave us an area in Sarimbun Scouts Camp and told us to convert it to a permanant outdoor cooking area. They also told us to give it a name so that it'll show that it's us ft interns that made that area and that when we go back there in the future, we can tell people that we made it. So all afternoon long we were split into our two groups with mine only 3 men strong and the other 5 men strong.

But it was good. Umar told us to combine ideas to make it into a master plan and an area layout plan with measurements.

HAHA!

Good or what sia!

But at least they'd leave my birthday for me to rest. But no, I'm going for db training then going out with Saliha after training.

Sigh.

I'll be working on National day though. I wonder why the malay welfare home for boys wants a camp on the 8th, 9th and 10th August.

Thank god that I'm not doing that camp, because Mac's camp chief for that camp and he'll sabo until jialatjialat one.

HAHA!

Anyway, yesterday I went for land training and it was damn shiok.

It's like after work you head to the gym to de-stress. Pk called me while I was on my way home from work. Told me that I need to bring the two school paddles down to dover. That is when I was contemplate whether to go training or not. Was wondering whether they'll mind me going back. But I changed my mind after reading Joy's blog. Thanks babe! I miss you guys and girls loads too!

Ohkay!

I've gotta go bathe and pack my stuff for training tomorrow!

Btw, to innotrekkers I know+ft interns+ft people:
I'll be going to Golden Mile Complex (aka, Beach Road) to get my haversack on sunday. If you wanna go there, you can either sms, call, im or tag me in my tagboard and I'll get back to you asap.

Okay so, rc today was fine but it was funfunfun with so many people around. There's CheeYi, Saliha, Mariam and her two friends and me. Johanna came a tad bit later.

Tried roof route. It was just so difficult to heave myself to the higher wall. Basket.

Anyway, after rc, Mariam's two friends went off first, then everyone headed down to Clementi for lunch.

Then, we began the search fr the State flag of Singapore and smaller flags for camp.

We literally went eveywhere n Clementi tfind the flags but to no avail. There's this aunty in ntuc who told us that masar malam might have the small flags. So we headed down to the one in BoonLay bus interchange (by this time, CHeeYi left us to meet a friend and Johanna went of for some rehearsal at NUS and she gave me one of her light green uniform!) and Firdaus spotted a box of it. And YAY! it's those kind that have a tube of chocolates for the 'pole' thingy.
