The races today were fantastic to watch. Although many teams were not in the line-up, I guess its was a good gauge for the teams in those races to judge their current standards as a prelude to the annual SDBA dragonboat festival. And was quite inspired by it. So train hard Dragnix!
I noticed the mixed races were in fact extremely competitive, with NJC, Neophytes and SAFSA putting up incredible timings. The mens and womens opens were almost predictable with NTU mens and NUS womens taking huge leads in their heats. I think it really boils down to how hard these guys train to reach the level that we see these days. I guess with the introduction of carbon fibre paddles, it realli cuts down on the race timings as well. Well, tml is still another day of races to look ahead to and hope it will only get better.
Cheers!
