The trip to Pulau Ubin was awesome! With great people, and great company the trip was fabulously awesome!
Attendance: Krist, Shannon, Ashraf, JiaJi, RiXiang, Hakim, Priya,
Had breakfast at Changi Village (NASI LEMAK!). In fact,Shannon, Priya, RiXiang, Hakim and I all gotten Nasi Lemak for Breakfast but their otah isn't as awesome as the fabulous Nasi Lemak stall in Boon Lay Market though. Heh.
Anyway, after waiting for Ashraf and finishing our food, we headed down to the jetty to meet the CJ gang and off to Ubin we go!
First stop in ubin was the drinks shop/house then to the bike shop. The when we went into the drink shop/house, I felt as if we've barged into the house of an old man. On the other hand, it was nostalgic to see his house the way it is. Brings back memories of how I played with my neighbours' kids at the void deck of my block and makes me want to head back into the past and stay in those rustic houses. Maybe, just maybe, I would wanna own a house in Ubin. haha!
After getting our bikes and filled our waterbags/bottles, we went on an off road trail and gotten lots of dead ends. But in the end, it feels so awesome to do some mountain biking or whatever you call that once in a while.
We cycled for two hours or so, JiaJi was afraid that we don't have enough water so we headed back to the old uncle's house to fill up. We went different ways from the CJ gang because they wanted to rest longer so off to Jalan Durian we go! When we got to the T-Junction There was only an old uncle and an auntie in her forties. We wanted to have some durians badly so we decided ask the uncle (even though he's wielding a parang he looks much more friendlier than the forty something auntie. HEE~) for only one durian. In the end he gave us like two to three durians while RiXiang and Ashraf found one that is isn't ripe.
After that, we headed to Chek Jawa and went to the boardwalk and we actually played 'Ohm Ohm Chuckie' and 'Pap parap parap pap pap' at the shelter sia. Whalau, I hate cycling upslope can. Left my quads almost pulled/cramped up. After the boardwalk, we headed to the viewing tower. Whalau, that one scary can. after going up, I felt like abseiling down instead lar. But the wind was awesome. (:
Oh and btw, you know the photos of people walking on the corals if you search photos of chek jawa, that's in the past. They've built a board walk thingy for conserving the corals and wildlife. Totally burst my happy bubble when krist asked the person at the visitor centre at ChekJawa.
After that, we headed back to the bball court and returned our bikes soon after. But before I returned my bike, Jolynn brought me to this awesome garden/farm that reminds me of the one that is a street away from bukit batok nature park super nostalgic sia.
It was an awesome trip(:
Next Ubin trip is with my brother! OI BROTHER, WHEN CAN WE GO???? Hahaha!
